Setting the Standard of Excellence
The band program supports other organizations, on and off campus, by giving back and performing at various locations.
The Lexington High School Cat Band has performed at the inauguration of a U.S. President and inaugurations for two South Carolina Governors.
Since 1985, the band has won five state marching band championships.
Since 1998, the band has competed in seven Bands of America Regional Championships and has consistently received Division I ratings along with a AAA Championship in 1999.
Lexington has performed in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, the Philadelphia/IKEA Thanksgiving Parade, the Tournament of Roses Parade, and the Magnificent Mile Festival of Lights Parade in Chicago. Most recently, the Cat Band was the 2021 SCBDA 5A Bronze Medalist.
